DC Fashion Week: Tory Burch Presentation

photo 8

A few months ago, Tory Burch opened a new store in Georgetown, her first in the district.

Rumor has it, Tory herself came to visit the week of its opening, which is a BFD if I do say so myself!

We visited the store in January to browse.

Unfortunately we didn’t find anything new to add to our already very Burched closets, but we did have a nice sit down coffee and hot chocolate in the shoe room.

The interior is an experience for any fan of the Tory Burch aesthetic, a reflection of her recently launched home collection. The bright wallpaper and lucite coffee tables are a nice complement to the plush mohair sofas.

We recommend you take a seat and possibly a sip if you find yourself nearby. Word to the wise, the Wisconsin Avenue shop only sells accessories (think handbags, jewellery, sunglasses, and shoes, to name a few).

The brand hosted a DC Fashion Week event at the W Hotel this past week.

Seeing the clothes at the W downtown allowed us to better visualize the Tory Burch lifestyle–  tropical and eastern influences, beaded embellishment, embroidery, and metallics.

The event included themed drinks, rotating looks, a DJ, and utilized the Neoclassical architecture of the lobby by projecting the NYFW Spring/Summer ’14 fashion show onto its walls and ceiling.

Enjoy some photos below from the event!

Golden Elephants and Amber Horns

Golden Elephants and Amber Horns

I bought these two fantastic necklaces at the Tuckernuck pop-up shop in Georgetown a little while ago.

While they are equally beautiful worn separately, they seem to naturally want to be worn together. Who am I to disagree?

They look great layered over dark chunky sweaters and I can’t wait to dangle then over white tunics in the summer.

Sadly, in keeping with the temporary nature of pop-ups, Tnuck is leaving the DC area shortly. Fear not, however, because you can still find a plethora of magnificent bits ‘n bobbles on their website.
